Star Party at Northern Skies Observatory in Peacham!

The Milky Way blankets the Northern Skies Observatory, located in the town of Peacham, Vermont. The photo is a panorama of 8 vertical overlapping images spaced 30 degrees apart. The observatory is operated by the Northeast Kingdom Astronomy Foundation (NKAF). It is one of about twenty observatories on the Skynet Robotic Telescope Network, whose major purpose is to record, image, and study gamma-ray bursts. The non-profit foundation is also heavily involved in local high school astronomy classes, as well as the Governor's Institutes of Vermont.

Star Party at Northern Skies Observatory in Peacham!

The weather is looking ideal for this coming Saturday, September 20 to have a star party at the Northern Skies Observatory! We'd love to invite any interested observers to enjoy the clear, dark skies in northern Vermont! We had a great time at our previous star party!

We'll start at 7:30, when it starts to get dark enough to see things, and the Milky Way should be in full view as it gets darker!

Park in the Peacham School parking lot and follow the walk lights up to the observatory. Please leave flashlights at home, and it gets cool when the sun goes down, so sweaters are a great idea!
