FREE! 2026 Farmers Night Concert Series: with World Music by Kraatz Carromato
On Wednesday March 18 at 7:30 pm the Friends of the Vermont State House presents the eighth 2026 Farmers Night Series concert with Burlington-based world music quartet Kraatz Carromato. Join us as Kraatz Carromato takes us on a musical journey that echoes the migration of the Roma people through the Middle East and Europe, connecting Spanish flamenco and rumba with Balkan, East European, and Middle Eastern influences. Performing mostly original compositions, including songs of migration, of longing for a homeland, of loss, hope, and resilience. Listeners will also hear new and traditional songs sung in Spanish, Bosnian, English, and the Romani language.
This year’s Farmers Night offerings include a dozen weekly Wednesday performances with the exception of a break for Town Meeting in early March. The series concludes in mid-April.
The Farmers Night Concert Series is a longstanding State House tradition which goes back over 100 years to a time when lawmakers entertained themselves in the House Chamber mid-week while away from home. Artists from around the state, in genres ranging from classical music to bluegrass to spoken word, perform in the well of the House Chamber each Wednesday night at 7:30 during the legislative session. Doors open at 7:00 pm. All concerts are FREE and open to the public.
