Vermont Repertory Theatre presents Shakespeare in Love - the play, the lush, romantic adaptation of the Academy award -winning film.

London 1593. Young Will Shakespeare is struck with writer's block and a poor first draft titled Romeo and Ethel, the Pirate's Daughter - until he meets the spirited Viola. Their secret romance sparks the creation of the world's greatest love story. Featuring dazzling period costumes, this production transforms the Isham Barn Theatre into an Elizabethan playhouse. Join us for a witty, joyful, and intimate ode to the redemptive power of love.

The Montpelier Contra Dance happens every 1st, 3rd, and 5th Saturday at the Capital City Grange Hall. We dance to live music with contra dance bands and callers from around New England and beyond. Beginners, singles, and all ages are welcome; all dances are taught. We use gender neutral role terms. There's a newcomers lesson at 7:45 pm and dancing 8-11pm. Commemorating its 50th year of professional summer ballet training, Burklyn Ballet Theatre (BBT) will celebrate its Golden Anniversary with a series of special events honoring its founding, alumni, and its history of ongoing training and performance programs. With three days of events (July 10-12) including a welcome and gala dinner, rehearsals (open to the public), and classes, BBT’s 50th Anniversary welcomes alumni from its many years of summer training programs and coincides with BBT’s 2026 summer intensive, June 21-August 2. All events are set to take place on the campus of Vermont State University in Johnson, Vermont.
