Live call-in discussion: Dozens of towns across Vermont plan to vote next week on whether to allow retail cannabis sales. In Vermont, 36% of survey respondents say they’re either somewhat or very likely to buy a cannabis product at one of the new stores, according to a poll from VPR and Vermont PBS.
In this hour, we’re going to take a look at how the recreational cannabis industry will work. We'll look at how state lawmakers have added social equity measures to the law. We’re also taking your calls – do you think you’ll buy recreational marijuana products from Vermont shops? Are you excited or worried about how this new marketplace could change your local economy or your community?
Our guests are:
- James Pepper, Chair of the Vermont Cannabis Control Board
- Xusana Davis, Vermont's Executive Director of Racial Equity
- Ted Brady, Executive Director of the Vermont League of Cities and Towns
Broadcast live at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 23; rebroadcast at 7 p.m.
