Every year, chefs and restaurants across the country wait with baited breath to find out who has won the prestigious James Beard Awards. For the last three years, there has been a new category: the leadership award, recognizing visionaries in the world of sustainable food.
Five winners were chosen this year, and one of them is from Vermont - Hal Hamilton, the founder and co-director of the Sustainable Food Lab in Hartland. Hamilton spoke with Vermont Edition about the work he does and winning the James Beard Leadership Award.
