Join Springfield area Tai Chi Vermont-certified instructors to mark World Tai Chi and Qigong Day at this fun, FREE event!

Players from across the globe in 80+ nations come together at 10 a.m. on the last Saturday of April each year to educate the world about the profound benefits of tai chi and qigong. You can think of World Tai Chi and Qigong Day like the New Year's Eve ball drop ... except instead of midnight celebrations, it's waves of flowing qi moving across the time zones as the planet turns, from New Zealand to Hawaii. From Springfield, Vt., Sue Rubel and Jo Bregnard will lead you in qigong movements and different tai chi forms. Come practice, follow along and connect with other tai chi players!

We'll meet in-person at Studio Momentum, Edgar May Health Center's group exercise space, or online. Those who register for the online option will get access to the recording. Those attending in person should bring a change of footwear for practice--outdoor shoes are prohibited from the studio space.

ZERO CELSIUS unfolds at Mad Arts and Sugarbush Resort, bringing together artwork that explores the textures, tensions, and transformations of winter. From the hush of frozen landscapes to the volatility of a warming climate, the exhibition reflects on how the cold season shapes—and is reshaped by—human and environmental relationships.
Featuring sculpture, installation, sound, photography, and digital media, ZERO CELSIUS examines winter as material, concept, and metaphor: crystalline, fleeting, and ecologically vital. Visitors are invited to consider the fragility of snow in a changing world, reconnect with winter’s wonder and silence, and share their own stories of a season both timeless and increasingly imperiled.

A forgotten dance that bridges generations, defies gender norms and pulses with life.

In "Save the Last Dance for Me", Italian creative artist Alessandro Sciarroni revives the Polka Chinata—a nearly extinct courtship dance performed exclusively by men in villages near Bologna beginning in the early 20th century.

The piece was created in collaboration with Giancarlo Stagni, a Filuzziani dance master who rediscovered the form through archival footage from the 1960s. When Sciarroni encountered the dance in December 2018, it was practiced by only five people in all of Italy.

These performances by dancers Gianmaria Borzillo and Giovanfrancesco Giannini will be followed by workshops designed to share and revive this vibrant popular tradition on the verge of extinction.

Sciarroni is perhaps the most intriguing performative artist currently active in Italy. His enormously varied body of work addresses issues around personal and communitarian identity through the reconfiguration of performing practices that are often far from what is conventionally thought of as dance. Preferring to characterize himself as a creative artist rather than as a choreographer or dancer, Sciarroni was nevertheless awarded the Golden Lion Prize for Lifetime Achievement by the Venice Biennale of Dance in 2019.

THE ADDAMS FAMILY MUSICAL, a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, features an original story and a dilemma that’s every father’s nightmare: Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family—a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before—keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia.

Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

Full of comedy and your beloved childhood characters, this theatrical production is rated PG for occasional adult humor and mild language.

Violinist Laurie Smukler returns with New York City colleagues — violist Tal First, cellist Natasha Brofsky, and pianist Qing Jiang — for an all-Fauré evening. The program includes two chamber music masterpieces-both Piano Quartets, the radiant Violin Sonata No. 1 in A major, and the brilliant Fantaisie for flute and piano with flutist Karen Kevra.

Champlain Valley Quilt Guild presents our biennial quilt show! The theme this year is “Star Struck.” there will be gorgeous quilts on display, as well as the extraordinary quilts of our featured artist, Hope Johnson. Vendors, raffles, members craft sales, and judges’ awards are all part of the fun.

The Julian Scott Memorial Gallery is pleased to present a BFA exhibit featuring Amber Boles, Allegra Luzardo, Rose Oakland, and Sayler Ruggles. The exhibit features painting, sculpture, and digital art. It runs from April 13 to May 1, 2026, with a reception and artist talks on April 16th from 12-2 pm. Made Here Film Festival is a regional festival for filmmakers residing in New England and Québec. MHFF is New England’s only competitive festival dedicated entirely to films made by creatives based in our region. Made Here Film Festival takes place at Burlington Beer Company in an historic building constructed in 1903 as the North American factory of Auguste and Louis Lumière, the film pioneers often credited with the invention of motion pictures and the first cinematic presentations.

Los Lorcas celebrates the release of their new album, Wild Island, with a concert blurring the boundaries between spoken word and song, weaving poetry with Andalusian ballads, blues, rock, folk, reggae, hip hop, Americana, and jazz in pursuit of the cante jondo ("deep song"). Their timely and soulful compositions weave themes of love, loss, homelessness, empathy, activism, and gratitude through a filter of the American dream.

In the spirit of Federico Garcia Lorca — gifted musician, legendary poet/playwright, and ebullient performer — poets Partridge Boswell and Peter Money, along with guitarist Nat Williams, fuse poetry and music in a passionate and surprising mash-up.

Troubadouring widely in the US, Ireland, Canada, and Slovenia, Los Lorcas have performed everywhere from farmhouse kitchens to pubs, coffeehouses, schools, theaters, and festival crowds. Pat Byrne shares the bill.

International ambassador of Latin jazz, Vermont Public radio host, and distinguished music educator, Ray Vega brings his undeniably brilliant mix of Latin and Afro-Caribbean jazz to the First Congregational Church of Essex Junction. A portion of the proceeds will support Age Well.

The Ray Vega Afro-Caribbean Jazz Ensemble will present a program of music from a refreshingly original and contemporary perspective combining Jazz with elements of music from Cuba, Puerto Rico, Jamaica and more!!

The Community Concerts at First music series celebrates amazing artists from Vermont and New England and brings our community together. Community Concerts at First is an opportunity to hear great music and raise funds for FCCEJ and our community partners.

A portion of the 2026 CC@F concert proceeds will support AgeWell. Their mission is to empower and support individuals as they age by providing community connection and access to services.

Renowned pianist David Feurzeig will perform his 98th Vermont concert on Sunday April 26, at 3:00pm in Waterbury at the Waterbury Congregational Church, 8 North Main Street, with local performers David Goodman, clarinet and Matt LaRocca, viola, continuing David’s exciting tour — a free show in all of Vermont’s 252 towns to spread the joy of music and promote environmentally sustainable performance.

In May of 2022, he embarked on his Play Every Town project: 252 free concerts in each of Vermont’s 252 towns to combat climate change through the power of community and music. With this project, David will become the first musician to perform in every Vermont municipality. He will travel in his solar-charged electric vehicle throughout the state, offering free concerts to bring attention to the interrelated issues of climate and community, while bringing the joy of music to his audiences.
