Across Vermont, Performing Arts Organizations Navigate COVID-19

Festivals canceled. Venues closed. COVID-19 has hit Vermont's performing arts hard. This hour, we talk about the strain on artists and arts organizations, and ways Vermonters can help.

  • Karen Mittelman, executive director of the Vermont Arts Council
  • Kevin Titterton, director of marketing and communications for the Flynn, a Burlington-based performing arts center
  • Jon Mack, manager of the Hooker-Dunham Theater and Gallery in Brattleboro
  • Jay Craven, co-founder of Kingdom County Productions (KCP), which produces films and live performances across Vermont
  • Bess O’Brien, co-founder of Kingdom County Productions (KCP)
  • Jarvis Green, producing artistic director of JAG Productions, which produces classic and contemporary African-American theater in White River Junction
  • Paddy Reagan, co-organizer of Waking Windows, a music, art and comedy festival in Winooski

Jane Lindholm is the host, executive producer and creator of But Why: A Podcast For Curious Kids. In addition to her work on our international kids show, she produces special projects for Vermont Public. Until March 2021, she was host and editor of the award-winning Vermont Public program Vermont Edition.
Lydia worked for Vermont Public Radio and Vermont PBS from 2019 until 2022.
