Activists are rallying on the Statehouse steps at noon today to demand action on climate change ahead of Gov. Phil Scott's State of the State address. Many lawmakers say addressing a changing climate is a top priority this session. We're talking about what activists want and what lawmakers are pursuing when it comes to fighting climate change in this legislative session.
We'll talk with Bradford Democratic Rep. Sarah Copeland Hanzas, a member of the "climate solutions caucus," about what climate bills and priorities do — and do not — fit their platform.
And with Republican House Rep. Rob LaClair of Barre Town, on what his party and caucus support when it comes to addressing climate change.
We'll also hear from Matt Cota, executive director with the Vermont Fuel Dealers Association, on how fuel dealers and related industries are reacting to pending climate change legislation.
