Vermont has produced its fair share of outstanding winter sports athletes. Vermont Edition shines the spotlight on those who have excelled at ski jumping as we look at how the sport has changed in Vermont.

Joining us are:

  • Mike Holland of Norwich, who competed in the 1984 and '88 Winter Olympics
  • Walter Malmquist of West Fairlee, a 1976 and '80 Winter Olympian
  • Dana Zelenakas of Brattleboro, a member of the 1972 United States Winter Olympic team

Ski jumping competitions at Harris Hill started in 1922. This year's event was held on February 16 and 17.

They'll discuss how one enters the sport and excels as a ski jumper. And how ski jumping is surviving and even thriving in parts of Vermont and New Hampshire.
