When it comes to preparing a romantic meal, local chefs says simpler is better.

Just in time for Valentine's Day, Melissa Pasanen, who writes for the Savorvore Section of the Burlington Free Press shares ideas from local restaurant chefs for creating a romantic dinner.

"It's a huge deal for Valentine's Day. According to the National Restaurant Association, about a quarter of all Americans will go to a restaurant on Valentine's Day but also of course it's a great opportunity to make a beautiful, intimate meal at home," Pasanen said.

Pasanen spoke with local chefs about a memorable meal they created for a loved one and found the dinners they put together were often very simply prepared and it was more about spending a quiet evening together with good food and drink. "And definitely do the dishes together," Pasanen said.

Find out more about creating an intimate, romantic meal at home in Pasanen's piece, Five Chefs Recall Their Most Romantic Meals.
