Jean-Marie is 38, and is said to have left on foot and without much-needed items. Barre Police say they are continuing to follow several tips and leads and keep the case top-of-mind.
However, local organizations such as Black Lives Matter VT have created a Facebook page with a call to action, suggesting community members should contact members of the Barre Police. The group says they believe that law enforcement and local media have not given the case the same amount of attention that they would have if Jean-Marie was white.
In the course of his reporting, Blaisdell, spoke with Jean-Marie's family, and they say they believe Barre Police are doing all they can to find their loved one.
