Some 200 people came together at the Craftsbury Common on Wednesday to hold signs, make speeches, march and even ride a horse in support of black lives.
The rally was organized by local residents Pablo Coddou and Anne-Marie Keppel. It was interrupted several times by counter-protesters, including people who drove by in a truck with a Confederate flag.
It was one of numerous and ongoing protests across Vermont and around the country calling for the dismantling of systemic racism. They began last month after a white police officer was charged with the murder of a black man, George Floyd, in Minneapolis.
