Last week, David Mearsannounced his departure from his position as commissioner of the Department of Environmental Conservation. Mears will be leaving the position he has held since 2011 to rejoin the faculty at Vermont Law School. Deputy Commissioner Alyssa Schuren will assume his role in early August.
Commissioner Mears joined Vermont Edition to talk about the work he's overseen as commissioner, and the major issues on the horizon for the state.
