Vermont State Police say two people are dead in a possible murder-suicide in Fairlee.
Police say they got a call at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday from a resident on Sunset Drive in the Connecticut River valley town reporting a possible murder-suicide.
Police say that when they and rescue personnel arrived, they found a 43-year-old woman and 45-year-old man dead.
A police statement said the identities were being withheld until family members are notified. Police also did not provide a cause of death.
A state police crime scene search team was at the location where the deaths occurred.
Autopsies will be conducted at the state medical examiner's office.
