VPR Classical’s monthly Student Composer Showcase features student composers in our region, and is produced in collaboration with Music-COMP’s online mentoring program. This September we’ll meet Anna Scoppettone, who is entering her senior year at Montpelier High School.

In addition to having a busy senior year ahead, Anna makes time to advocate for the arts in her local school board meetings. "When they think of budget cuts, music the first thing to go. I put that frustration from that issue into my music, and I really want people to take away that the arts are important, and music is so important in kids lives."
