This beginning sewing class will be taught by Putney Sewing Bee Maven, Melanie Fletcher and Costume Designer/Actor, Azalea Hudson - two of the friendliest and most seasoned seamstress we know! We will be focusing on making wonderful sampler books. This is great for students just starting out and you'll come away with a wonderful memento of your first stitches!

The 25th Gilfeather Turnip Festival and Gilfeather Turnip Contest will be held Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m in Wardsboro, VT. Free admission. Rain or shine! Locations are at the Town Hall, the Wardsboro Public Library and the Big Tent – all on Main Street.
This is America’s best turnip culinary event, showcasing Vermont's state vegetable! Join the whole town for Gilfeather turnip soup at the outdoor soup kiosk, turnip flavored treats, farmers’ market, craft vendors, children’s games, 1000+ lbs of turnip, library book sale and turnip seeds.
