KCP Presents: Jaime Wyatt

KCP Presents: Jaime Wyatt
The KCP Presents Performing Arts Series begins Sunday, September 21st, with alt-country queen Jaime Wyatt, at St. Johnsbury Academy’s Fuller Hall, at 7:00. Bringing big city talent to Vermont’s small towns, the KCP Presents Performing Arts Series has scheduled 11 professional touring acts through spring of 2026, including dance, circus, comedy, and music from around the world.
Jamie Wyatt, hailed by Pitchfork as one of the “most exciting and skillful storytellers” working today, is the kind of generational talent whose raw, honest lyricism is matched only by the power of her huge, unmistakable voice. Turning heads since 2017 with her breakout debut “Felony Blues,” which chronicled her much publicized battle with addiction and a transformational journey through the criminal justice system, Wyatt released “Neon Cross,” in 2020, tackling even more profoundly personal revelations. Both records earned gushing acclaim, with NPR praising Wyatt’s “remarkable voice” and Rolling Stone lauding her “lush, layered, and complex” performances.
Her upcoming album “Feel Good,” recorded with Adrian Quesada (Black Pumas) is bold and ecstatic, built on tight, intoxicating grooves that belie the songs’ substantial emotional stakes. Wyatt’s writing is unguarded and intuitive, reckoning with grief and growth, and her delivery—half vulnerability, half swagger—cuts to the bone. “Feel Good” is a genre-defying work of healing and self-love that nods to influences ranging from Al Green to Waylon Jennings, Otis Redding to Bobbie Gentry, a heady combination of alt-country rock and melodic Americana.
