Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice

Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice

Camp Thorpe, in partnership with Amplified Arts, is producing a community theatre production of Pride and Prejudice, adapted by Andrew Davies from Jane Austen's classic novel. This production, based on the popular 1995 BBC mini-series, is in honor of Austen's 250th birthday and will bring the beloved characters and timeless story to life on stage.

The production will take up residence at the Brandon Town Hall on October 31 and November 1 to benefit Camp Thorpe. This 99-year-old summer camp has a mission to provide a joyful and inclusive summer camp experience for teens and adults with developmental disabilities in the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont. A portion of the ticket proceeds benefits the scholarship program, which helps keep camp affordable for Vermont campers —a cause that will inspire your support. Learn more about camp here: https://www.campthorpe.org.

The cast members hail from New Hampshire, Vermont, and New York City, bringing a unique blend of talent and passion to the production. From local novice talent to seasoned professionals, each actor has a unique story and a shared love for the arts. They are the ones who will bring these unforgettable characters from Pride and Prejudice to life on stage.

Amplified Arts, an award-winning production company founded in NH, will mark its 21st production with this piece, as well as its second Austen production. Most recently, AMP produced an award-winning production of Hedda Gabler by Ibsen on the Maxfield Parrish stage set in Plainfield, NH.

Tickets are general admission. A senior (62 years or older)/student (under 18) ticket, priced at $15, will be available at the door.

Pride and Prejudice (Davis) is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. www.concordtheatricals.com
