Eat the Evergreens: A Winter Forager’s Snack Guide!
Eat the Evergreens: A Winter Forager’s Snack Guide!
Get ready for some feral mischief! This cozy and upbeat 90-minute indoor workshop explores the surprising abundance of foraging opportunities available in southern Vermont’s coldest month. Participants will learn the basics of foraging, what equipment to use, and how to identify winter offerings such as evergreens, rosehips, and a few other hidden cold season treats. The session includes tastings, helpful handouts, and a hands-on take-home project designed to bring flavor to the midwinter lull. This educational workshop is perfect for anyone curious about foraging and what the landscape has to offer long after the gardens are asleep. It is appropriate for adults and children 12 and older.
The workshop takes place from 1pm to 2:30 pm on January 24th, at the Marlboro Community Center, located at 524 South Road in Marlboro.
This is one in a several foraging workshops this winter led by Dara Carleton, owner of Feral by Nature. The cost is $25 per workshop.
