Vermont Receives First Doses Of COVID-19 Vaccine

The first doses of a Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine arrived Monday, Dec. 14 at the State Vaccine Depot and the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.

Mass distribution of a Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine has begun in the U.S., with an estimated 2.9 million doses expected to be delivered to states this week. In our weekly COVID-19 health update, we hear how Vermont officials are working through the logistics of local distribution, and we answer your COVID-19-related questions. Our guests are:

  • Tracy Dolan, deputy commissioner for the Vermont Department of Health
  • Kelly Dougherty, deputy commissioner for the Vermont Department of Health
  • Jessica Aboelezz, pharmacy manager at Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans

The University of Vermont Medical Center will administer the first COVID-19 vaccination in Vermont at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 15. You can watch live here.
