Some favorites from decades past, fine new releases, and a healthy selection of musical events happening in the VPR listening area this week.

This program will air on Sunday November 13th from 7 - 10 p.m.

This week's calendar announcements:

Jenni Johnson & the Jazz Junketeers will light up Gethsemane Episcopal Church on Sunday November 20th as part of the Raise the Roof concert series in Proctorsville. Music begins at 4 p.m.

Brattleboro Women’s Chorus' fall concert, “Well May the World Go” will be performed on 
Saturday, November 19th at 7:30 p.m. at All Souls Church in W. Brattleboro
Sunday, Nov. 20th at 4 p.m. at Centre Congregational Church, Main St., Brattleboro.

Scott Ainslie will perform at Sterling College in Craftsbury on Wednesday November 16th, 7-9 p.m.

There will be a benefit concert for the Lost Nation Theater on Thursday November 17th featuring Rusty DeWees, Jon Gailmor, Tom Murphy, George Woodard, and Dave Keller at City Hall Arts Center in Montpelier. The show begins at 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday November 19th, Summit School in Montpelier will be presenting a day long event: The Summit School "Sampler” from 1 p.m. until 11 p.m. Featured events include a shape note sing, the Montpelier Senior Ukulele Orchestra, a Southern old time music and a Cajun Dance workshop, and an evening concert and Cajun dance with the Vermont Cajun band Yankee Chank.
The place is Montpelier City Hall.

The Bluegrass Gospel Project will perform at the Vergennes Opera House on Saturday, November 19th   at 7:30 pm.

Kat Wright and the Indomitable Soul Band will be holding a CD release party on Friday November 18th at the Higher Ground ballroom in South Burlington.

Mr. Sun will perform at the Unitarian Church in Burlington on Saturday November 19th 

Robert Resnik has been the host of All the Traditions, Vermont Public's folk and world music show, since 1996. He is the winner of the 2019 Herb Lockwood Prize In the Arts, an honor that rewards the pinnacle of arts leadership in Vermont and is the recipient of the 2022 Margaret L Kannenstine Award for Arts Advocacy from the Vermont Council of the Arts.
