Last year, the Burlington Food Shelf received a grant to create a special food truck, which is now called The Good Food Truck. Its purpose is to bring food to people who can’t get to the Burlington Food Shelf.
Currently, the Good Food Truck serves around 200 meals a week.
“The Good Truck is designed to get good food to low-income people, people who may not have transportation [and] people who can’t get to the food shelf that’s in the Old North End of Burlington,” says Sally Pollak, a contributor to the Savorvore Section of the Burlington Free Press. “It’s nutritious, it’s local food and [has] really great menus that arrive once a week at three places in and around Burlington.”
You can learn more about the Good Food Truck in Pollak’s piece, Food Truck Serves Up Social Mission With Meals.
