Spanning More Than 50 Years Of Music

French waltzes, folk revival classics,  bossa nova, Cape Verdean saudade, cajun two-steps, and a generous helping of Vermont music....and that's just an overview !

This program will air on Sunday July 17th from 7 - 10 p.m.

This week's calendar:

On Sunday, July 24, 2016 at 4:00 pm, the 18th Annual Folk Music Concert will be held at the Old West Church in Calais, Vermont. This year, the concert will feature Last Night’s Rain, a sister duo from Northumberland, England. Vermont song collector Deb Flanders will also be performing, along with Pete Sutherland, Oliver Scanlon, John Dunlop, and Laura Markowitz.

 Woodchucks' Revenge will be at the Lamoille County Field Days in Johnson on Friday, July 22nd from 9 a.m. until noon.

The Sky Blue Boys will be performing at the Plainfield Town Hall on Tuesday July 19th along with Cold Country Bluegrass with music beginning at 7 p.m.  The Lindner Brothers (The Sky Blue Boys) will also be performing at Bread and Butter Farm in Shelburne on Friday July 22nd at  5 p.m.

Darlingside will be giving a free concert in Burlington’s Battery Park on Thursday July 21st beginning at 6:30 p.m.

There will be an evening of Folk, Acoustic Blues, Old Timey String Band, Traditional Country and Bluegrass, and more on Sunday, July 24thstarting at 6:30pm at the Westport Federated Church in Westport, NY.   Featured performers at this benefit concert include Joan Crane, the Too Tall String Band, Steve Light, and many more !

Alan Greenleaf will be playing at the Littleton, NH Farmers Market on Sunday, July 17th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Dave Keller will be performing solo at the Essex Resort and Spa on Wednesday July 20th at 6 p.m.

The Phil Henry Band will be playing at Mills Riverside Park in Jericho on Wednesday July 20th at 6 p.m.

 
Banjoist Abigail Washburn and Chinese sheng player Wu Fei will perform at the Town Hall Theater in Middelbury on Sunday July 24th at 7 p.m.

There will be a Contra dance in E. Thetford on Saturday, July 23rd at the Pavilion from 8-11 p.m.  Featuring "Fred Breunig and pals" providing the music and caller David Millstone.  Everyone is welcome – no partner or experience necessary.  Regular dance starts at 8.  Newcomers may arrive at 7:45 for a walk-through.  Please bring clean, soft-soled shoes for dancing.

 

Robert Resnik has been the host of All the Traditions, Vermont Public's folk and world music show, since 1996. He is the winner of the 2019 Herb Lockwood Prize In the Arts, an honor that rewards the pinnacle of arts leadership in Vermont and is the recipient of the 2022 Margaret L Kannenstine Award for Arts Advocacy from the Vermont Council of the Arts.
