Act 166 mandating full access to pre-K education across the state goes into effect on July 1. We're talking about what changes, and how it will work.

Throughout the state, teachers are meeting with parents and their young children for registration in pre-K programs. Some of those kids will be there because of Act 166 - the state's new law mandating universal access to pre-K education - which goes into full implementation in July. We're looking at what will and won't change, and concerns over funding and equality issues.

We're joined by Melissa Riegel-Garrett, pre-K coordinator for the Vermont Agency of Education. And by Michele Campbell, director of education at the Saxon Hill School.

Also on the program, we talk to the new nominee for director of Burlington's Community and Economic Development Office, Noelle MacKay.

Broadcast live on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at noon; rebroadcast at 7 p.m.
