Author M. T. Anderson

His books have taken readers to a world where internet connections feed directly into your brain. To the wondrous flame pits of Delaware. And most recently, to life during the Bolshevik Revolution and Stalinist Russia.

And they have garnered acclaim and honors, including the National Book Award.

M. T. Anderson, who now calls Vermont home, strives to entertain young and old readers and to push the limits of their intelligence. He joins us to discuss his writing.

Also on the program, Gretchen Becker is a science writer who was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 1996. We talk with her about her newly revised and updated book, "The First Year: Type 2 Diabetes: An Essential Guide for the Newly Diagnosed."

Broadcast live on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015 at noon; rebroadcast at 7 p.m.

Ric was a producer for Vermont Edition and host of the VPR Cafe.
Jane Lindholm is the host, executive producer and creator of But Why: A Podcast For Curious Kids. In addition to her work on our international kids show, she produces special projects for Vermont Public. Until March 2021, she was host and editor of the award-winning Vermont Public program Vermont Edition.
