Thanking Our Lucky Stars For Allen Toussaint

Wishing a sweet journey direct to piano heaven for Allen Toussaint, one of the greatest New Orleans musicians and producers, who passed on this week at the age of 77.  His music definitely will live on...

Ace guitarist Doug Perkins will be performing solo at the Whammy Bar in Calais on Thursday November 19th.  

The band Roosevelt Dime will perform at Nectar’s in Burlington on Thursday November 19th at 10 p.m.

The band Mr. Sun will be performing at the Richmond Congregational Church on Sunday November 22nd at 4 p.m.

The southern Vermont vocal group The House Band will hold a concert at the Gethsemane Episcopal Church in Proctorsville on Sunday November 22nd at 4 p.m.

The Good Times Café in Hinesburg presents Kris Delmhorst on Saturday November 21st at 8:30 p.m.

The Chandler Travis Three-0 will be holding a CD release party at Café Lena in Saratoga Springs on Saturday November 21st at 8 p.m.

On Sunday, November 22nd, Rural Vermont hosts their 30th Anniversary Celebration Finale at the Bethel Town Hall with “Farmers Tell Their Stories” and special musical guests Patti Casey, Colin McCaffrey, and Pete Sutherland.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Higher Ground in South Burlington presents the Von Trapps with special guest Francesca Blanchard on Monday November 16th at 8 p.m.

Afrobeat star Rocky Dawuni will appear live at ArtsRiot on Pine Street in Burlington on Friday November 20th  

There will be a Nectar's 40th Celebration with The Unknown Blues Band at Club Metronome in Burlington on Thursday November 19th featuring special guests Dave Keller, Dave Grippo, Nicole Nelson and Dwight Ritcher.   Doors open at 7 p.m., music begins at 8 

The Cold River Ranters will hold a CD release party at the Mole Hill Theater in East Alstead, NH on Saturday November 21st at 7 p.m.

There will be a contradance at Holley Hall in Bristol on Friday November 20th  at 8 p.m. featuring the music of Pete’s Posse with Lausanne Allen calling.

Lewis Franco & The Brown Eyed Girls will be at the Whammy Bar in Maple Corner in Calais on Saturday November 21st at 7:30 p.m. 

The Brattleboro Women’s Chorus's 20th anniversary concerts will be held on Saturday, November 21 at 7:00 pm and Sunday, November 22 at 3:00 pm, both at First Baptist Church on Main St. in Brattleboro.

Jeremy Harple will be playing solo at the Taproom in St. Johnsbury on Friday November 20th 9 p.m. and with his band the Aerolites at Nectars in Burlington on Saturday November 21st at 8 p.m.

They Might Be Gypsies will be playing at the Feast and Field Winter Market in Barnard on Thursday November 19th from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Robert Resnik has been the host of All the Traditions, Vermont Public's folk and world music show, since 1996. He is the winner of the 2019 Herb Lockwood Prize In the Arts, an honor that rewards the pinnacle of arts leadership in Vermont and is the recipient of the 2022 Margaret L Kannenstine Award for Arts Advocacy from the Vermont Council of the Arts.
