Five people have already announced they are running for Vermont's open governor's seat in the 2016 general election, and one of those candidates is Democrat Matt Dunne. He's our guest on Tuesday's Vermont Edition. The Hartland native is head of Community Affairs for Google, and served as director of AmeriCorps VISTA during the Clinton administration. We ask Dunne why he's running for governor, and what distinguishes him in a Democratic primary that includes Sue Minter and Shap Smith.
Also in the program, Miss Vermont is on a campaign to share her love of science. Alayna Westcom got her masters in medical lab science at UVM, and in this weekend's Miss America pageant she performed a science experiment onstage in the competition, to the delight of social media fans.
