Vermont has around 2,000 prisoners housed in and out of state.

Vermont is making plans to move their roughly 300 out-of-state prisoners from Kentucky and Arizona to a facility in Michigan. This comes about as the state ends its contract with Corrections Corporation of America and starts one with the GEO Group.

We discuss why the state is making the change and what it will mean for our out-of-state prisoners with Corrections Commissioner Andy Pallito. And, in light of the recent escape of inmates in Dannemorra, New York, we also look at how secure Vermont's correctional facilities are.

Broadcast live on Thurs., June 11, 2015; rebroadcast at 7 p.m.
