The tenth annual Plymouth Folk and Blues Festival will take place at the President Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site in Plymouth Notch, Vermont on Labor Day Weekend, Saturday August 30th and Sunday August 31. Featured performers include Phil Henry, Sarah Blacker, Alastair Moock, and many others.
Gypsy Reel will perform on Saturday August 30 at 3:30 - 6.30 p.m. in Stratton Village in Bondville.
There will be a Brattleboro Dawn Dance Sunday August 31. English dancing from 2:30-5:30 p.m. at the Stone Church, Grove and Main Streets, and all night Contra Dancing beginning at 8 p.m. until 7 a.m. at the Gibson-Aiken Center, 207 Main St. in downtown Brattleboro VT. Performers include: LissaSchneckenburger band, Les Z Boys, Maivish, and callers Mary Wesley, Shawn Brenniman, and Gaye Fifer. For tickets and information go to www.dawndance.org
Daddy Longlegs, featuring Vermont musicians Rick Ceballos, David Gusakov, and Matt Witten, will perform in Burlington’s City Hall park on Wednesday August 27 at noon, and on Saturday August 30 at the North Branch Café in Montpelier at 7:30 p.m.
The first performance of the fall season at the Whallonsburg, NY Grange Hall presents Boston-based band Long Time Courting on Saturday, August 30 at 7:30 p.m.
Vermont blues musician Dave Keller will be playing two solo gigs this week in the VPR listening area, and one with his full blues band – check out his website for more details!
The New World Festival will be held in downtown Randolph on Sunday August 31 beginning at noon. Featured artists include Liz Carroll, De Temps Antan, Matt and Shannon Heaton, Wendy McIsaac, Keith Murphy and Becky Tracy, Cantrip, and many many more.
