Emily Peyton, a Republican Gubernatorial candidate, discusses her platform and candidacy.

Election season officially started last week with the campaign filing deadline. Emily Peyton is one of the three candidates who have filed to run on the Republican ticket. In 2010 and 2012 she ran for Governor as an independent. This time around she has filed as a Republican, even though she does not have the support of the party.

Peyton would like to see Vermont create a state-run bank, and believes that agricultural hemp could solve many of our environmental and economic problems. We talk to Emily Peyton about her platform and her candidacy.

Also on the program, with the rise in Lyme disease cases in the U.S. and the northeast, test for the disease has become particularly important. Beth Daley, reporter at the New England Center for Investigative Reporting has written an article looking into questionable tests that has caused concern at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She discusses her findings.

Plus, we head off to Summer School to learn to fly.

Broadcast live on Monday, June 16 at noon; rebroadcast at 7 p.m.
