Focus On School Superintendents

Social, racial, and financial issues in the Burlington school district have shined a light on the role of superintendents and highlighted the lack of qualified candidates in the job pool here.

Vermont Superintendents Association Executive Director Jeff Francis and Orange Southwest Supervisory Union Superintendent Brent Kay look at the role of the superintendent and why we've seen a high turnover rate in this position and face a dearth of qualified candidates to fill these openings.

Also on the program, we learn about a unique way Manchester Elementary and Middle School students are learning about water cycles, fish habitat and the impact of pollution through a program called Trout in the Classroom.

Plus, we reach into our virtual mailbag to read your comments.

Broadcast live on Wednesday, June 11 at noon; rebroadcast at 7 p.m.
