Art Hounds: Hot Metal, Music & Magic Lanterns

Artist Julia Johnson of Salem, New York recommended the Salem Art Works' Barn Bash on Saturday, June 7th with a full schedule of arts, demonstrations, hot metal pouring, local food and beers and live music. The event begins at 2 p.m., at Salem Art Works.

Vermont theater person David Schein of Burlington suggested the Ethiopian Boogie Benefit, featuring the New Nile Orchestra on Saturday, June 14th at 6 p.m. at Burnham Hall in Lincoln. 

The Putney School's dance program director Jon Reisling recommended a music and live-art happening, Music From An Imaginary New England Village on Saturday, June 7th at 7:30 p.m.

The concert is at Sandglass Theater in Putney with Tim Eriksen and The Trio de Pumpkintown playing folk and Americana tunes while Putney School alum and artist Susan Brearey uses a lantern to illustrate the story of a fictitious New England village.
