Lawmakers say they need four to five weeks to finish the business of this legislative biennium. That puts a deadline on the bills that will pass and those that won't. Legislators, lobbyists and activists continue to work on issues like banning on drivers using cell phones, requiring GMO products to be labeled, consolidating school systems, and requiring paid sick days.

We talk with some of Vermont’s best Statehouse reporters learn the details. The panel is Neal Goswami of the Vermont Press Bureau, Terry Hallenbeck of the Burlington Free Press and VPR's Peter Hirschfeld.

Patti is an integral part of VPR's news effort and part of the team that created Vermont Edition. As executive producer, Patti supervises the team that puts Vermont Edition on the air every day, working with producers to select and research show ideas, select guests and develop the sound and tone of the program.
Bob Kinzel has been covering the Vermont Statehouse since 1981 — longer than any continuously serving member of the Legislature. With his wealth of institutional knowledge, he answers your questions on our series, "Ask Bob."
