Art Hounds: Homecoming

Thursdays at 4:50 p.m. and Fridays at 7:55 a.m.  Musician Peg Tassey recommends Goddard College's 150th anniversary and Homecoming Weekend this Friday through Sunday, with many arts events open to the public, featuring Paul Zaloom, a dance party, a Bread & Puppet work shop, a photo booth and more.

Tassey, herself, is curator of the photography exhibit, "Rural Revolution," featuring pictures snapped by Goddard students during the '70s.

Susan Barnes of Stowe suggests Clarina's Second Annual Harvest Fest at Peoples' Academy on October 26th from 10 till 2. Several local artisans will sell their wares and Vermont's own Tammy Fletcher will perform to benefit the Clarina Howard Nichols Center.

Cynthia Sandusky is the director of the ArtsBus Project and she called in with a recommendation for a Critter Costume Costume for kids.

The contest is designed to lure kids away from digital media for a bit and create a costume to put on their pets, snap their pics, then enter the photographs on Facebook.

Nelson Jacque from Tinmouth recommends the final concert in the Old Fire Concert Series with Irish duo Ivan & Anna this weekend in Tinm0uth.

Music teacher Connie McDonald of Essex Junction recommends the long-standing autumn tradition, the Champlain Valley Quilt Festival at the Field House Athletic Club in Shelburne. The theme is "Inspired By Color."
