Politics Of Perception: Beltway Reporters Discuss Vt.

Keith Mellnick Photography

Vermont’s two senators and one representative are certainly important to Vermonters - they’re the only representatives the state has in Washington.  But just how much influence do they have on national politics?

Friday, Vermont Edition broadcasts from NPR’s studios in Washington, D.C.  to examine how Capitol Hill reporters see Vermont’s representatives and the influence they have on federal legislation and behind the scenes politics. Our guests are congressional reporters Niels Liesnewsky of Roll Call,  Seung Min Kim of Politico and NPR's David Welna.

Tell us how you think Vermont's congressional delegation is perceived in Washington: post below or on Vermont Edition's Facebook page.

Also in the program, one former Hill reporter gives us her take on what's broken in Washington. Andrea Seabrook of DecodeDC talks with Vermont Edition Managing Producer Patti Daniels.

Listen Friday 10/11/13 at Noon & 7PM. Vermont Edition's live broadcasts from NPR are supported by the VPR Journalism Fund.
