Love Songs to Vermont, Female Balladeers, and Rickie Lee Jones!

We start with a series of songs singing the praises of Vermont, end with some French waltzes, and celebrate in the middle with the British folk rock revival and Ms. Rickie Lee Jones, who will be making a rare live appearance this week at Lyndon State College!

This week's calendar announcements:

Catamount Arts presents the 3rd Annual Kingdom Bluegrass Jamboree on Saturday, October 19th at 7pm featuring: Bob Amos & Catamount Crossing, Seth and Candi Sawyer, The Bayley-Hazen Boys, Carol Hausner & Mark Struhsacker, Sal De Maio, and The Back Porch String Band at the Alexander Twilight Theater at Lyndon State College.

Banjo virtuoso and Punch Brothers band member Noam Pikelny is bringing some of the best musicians in bluegrass - Bryan Sutton (guitar), Jesse Cobb (mandolin), Luke Bulla (fiddle), and Barry Bales (bass) - to The Chandler Center for the Arts in Randolph on Fri, 10/18 at 7:30pm.

Todd Tyson’s Mountainfolk presents Sarah McQuaid  on Thursday, October 17th at the Tunbridge Town Hall at 7:30pm.  Doors open at 7:00.  Sarah will also be performing at the Café Lena in Saratoga Springs on Friday October 18th and at Stone Church Arts at the Immanuel Retreat Center in Bellows Falls on Saturday October 19th at 7:30pm following a guitar workshop earlier in the day.  

There will be a contradance featuring the music of the Irregulars at the Shelburne Town Hall on Friday October 18th featuring music by the The Irregulars and calling by Will Mentor. Dancing begins at 7:30.

Tim Jennings and Leanne Ponder will tell stories from their new CD the Vampire Princess at the Isley Public Library in Middlebury on Saturday October 19th at
2:00pm

Spencer Lewis will perform at the North Branch Concert Series in Waterville on
Thursday October 17th at the Waterville (VT) Town hall.

John Specker and his daughter Ida Mae Specker will be presenting their next Free Fiddle and Banjo Concert in Andover, VT, on Monday, October 14th from 3-5 pm. All are welcome and Admission is Free.

Rickie Lee Jones will make a rare local appearance on Friday, October 18th at the Alexander Twilight Theater, Lyndon State College at 7:30pm

Bela Fleck & Abigail Washburn will perform together on Thursday October 17th  at the Hopkins Center in Hanover, NH.
 
"Fly By Night"  David Kaynor, Pam Bockes and Susan Reid, will play a benefit concert Friday, October 18 at 7:30. at Church of the Good Shepherd, 39 Washington Street, Barre, to benefit the Church of the Good Shepherd's Community Breakfast and warming ministries.

Robert Resnik has been the host of All the Traditions, Vermont Public's folk and world music show, since 1996. He is the winner of the 2019 Herb Lockwood Prize In the Arts, an honor that rewards the pinnacle of arts leadership in Vermont and is the recipient of the 2022 Margaret L Kannenstine Award for Arts Advocacy from the Vermont Council of the Arts.
