Wed 9/18/13 Noon & 7PM Toga parties. Beer pong. Keggers. Alcohol almost seems like an expected part of the college years. In fact, nearly half of American college students engage in high risk drinking. But many universities are trying to change that. UVM is one of 32 schools that just completed a year-long learning collaborative on college drinking.
We’ll find out what they learned and what can be done to change the culture of college drinking with Lisa Johnson, director of the National College Health Improvement Program, and Jon Porter, Director of the Center for Health and Wellbeing at UVM.
You can listen to our show from last year about the early days of the NCHIP learning collaborative on college drinking here.
We'll also hear from Chris Casey, from the Green Mountain and Fingerlakes National Forests. He recently returned from fighting fires out west.
