Ragtime Guitars, Country Songs, and One More Time For the Champlain Valley Folk Fest !

A goodly helping of great new releases, more than a few old classics, and a preview of the 30th annual Champlain Valley Folk Festival, happening  next weekend in a new location.

This week's calendar listings for live music in the VPR listening area:

Sattuma, a folk band from Karelia, will be performing on Friday July 19th at the  Unitarian Church of Montpelier at 7:30 PM, and on ThursdayJuly 25th at the Norwich Congregational Church in Norwich.

Vermont musician Tim Lancaster will play at the NorthWoods Stewardship Center in East Charleston on Friday July 19th at 7:00pm.

The Champlain Valley Folk Festival will be held at Rock Point School in Burlington on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday July 19th, 20th, and 21st. The festival will be featuring a wealth of local musicians.  Volunteers are still needed to help put on the festival – for information, please check the festival’s web site: www.cvfest.org 

Mike & Ruthy will be performing at the Rockingham Meeting House on Sunday July 21st – doors open at 1:30pm, and music begins at 2:00pm.

Gypsy Reel will play Celtic favorites and more at the Ludlow gazebo on the Ludlow village green on Sunday July 21st at 7pm

Lewis Franco and the Missing Cats  will perform at the  Pavillion building near the beach at Harvey’s lake in Barnet on Friday July 19th at 7:00pm

Aaron Marcus and Joanne Garton will provide music for the Rochester Contra Dance on Thursday July 18th from 7:30-10pm at Pierce Hall, 38 Main St, Rochester.

Old Songs presents four-time Grammy nominated Cajun band the Pine Leaf Boys 
on Saturday, July 20, 8:00 pm at 37 South Main Street, Voorheesville, NY.  

Ana Egge will perform at the Upper Jay Art Center in Upper Jay, NY on Friday July 19th 

Vermont group Full Circle will be performing this week at the Shelburne Farmer's Market on Saturday July 20th at 10:00am and on Sunday July 21st at   Fisk Farm in Isle La Motte at 2:00pm 

Woodchuck’s Revenge will  be featured as part of  Proctorsville’s  VT summer concert series      on Wednesday, July 17th at 6:00pm   

The Will Patton ensemble will be playing on Wednesday July 17th at the Middlesex Bandstand beginning at 6:30pm.

Robert Resnik has been the host of All the Traditions, Vermont Public's folk and world music show, since 1996. He is the winner of the 2019 Herb Lockwood Prize In the Arts, an honor that rewards the pinnacle of arts leadership in Vermont and is the recipient of the 2022 Margaret L Kannenstine Award for Arts Advocacy from the Vermont Council of the Arts.
