Three Great Festivals, and Lots of New Acquisitions!

We welcome summer in with previews of the Old Songs Festival in Altamont, NY, the Jenny Brook Bluegrass Festival in Tunbridge, VT, and Festival Chants de Vielles in Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu, Quebec.  Also lots of exciting new releases and some old classics which we just purchased for the station's music library!

This week's calendar events:

The Jenny Brook Bluegrass Festival will be held June 26-30 at the Tunbridge fairgrounds.  Featured performers include the Seldom Scene, the Gibson Brothers, 5 time male vocalist of the year Russell Moore with IIIrd Tyme Out, banjo player of the year Sammy Schelor with Lonesome River Band and many more.

Le Chant du Vielles Festival will be held in St. Antoine-sur-Richielieu, Quebec June 28-30.  Artists performing will include Le Vent du Nord, Susan McKeown, Daniel Thonon, Gabriel Yacoub, and many more.

Alan Greenleaf and the Doctor" will be appearing at the Salt Hill Pub in Newport, "N.H.", on Thurs., June 27th, from 8:30 to 11:30 PM.

The Meeting House on the Green in East Fairfield invites you to an OPEN HOUSE on Thursday, June 27th from 5-8 p.m. Music by The Missisquoi River Band, pizza from the hearth, and a chance to tour a wonderful and historic building.

Lewis Franco & The Brown Eyed Girls (with Dono Schabner) will perform at Oxbow Park in Morrisville on Wednesday, June 26th  from 5:30-7:30pm

The 33rd annual Old Songs Festival will be held on June 28, 29 and 30 in Altamont NY, just ten miles west of Albany. The lineup includes Archie Fisher, Peter & Mary Alice Amidon, Gordon Bok, Clayfoot Strutters, Genticorum, John Roberts, Sheesam & Lotus & Son, Bill Spence, and many more.

Linda Waarner and Chickweed will play at the St. Johnsbury Farmers market on  Saturday June 29th at 9:30am

Marty Morrissey and Robert Resnik will perform at the Music Box in Craftsbury on Saturday June 29th at 8pm

Chris Smither will perform at the Café Lena in Saratoga Springs, NY on Sunday June 30th at 7:00pm.

Kris Gruen will hold a CD release party for his new disc, New Comics From the Wooded World, at Positive Pie in Montpelier on Saturday June 29th.

Rick Norcross and the Ramblers will perform at the Grand Isle Lake House on Sunday June 30th at 6:30pm  
 

Robert Resnik has been the host of All the Traditions, Vermont Public's folk and world music show, since 1996. He is the winner of the 2019 Herb Lockwood Prize In the Arts, an honor that rewards the pinnacle of arts leadership in Vermont and is the recipient of the 2022 Margaret L Kannenstine Award for Arts Advocacy from the Vermont Council of the Arts.
