Roots On The River, The Strolling Of The Heifers, And A Quick Trip Around The World

The summer music festival season is suddenly upon us with the Roots on the River Festivalin Bellows Falls and the Strolling of the Heifers in Brattleboro, both next weekend. Add to that some Malian dance music, some Greek rembetiko, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee, and Screamin' Jay Hawkins, and you get an idea of the glorious musical stew we will be cooking up!  

Live music information for this week:

Alan Greenleaf and the Doctor will be featured performers at the Strolling of the Heifers next weekend in Brattleboro.  There will be the big parade on Saturday, June 8th, starting at 10 AM. Alan and the Doctor, with friends, will be on the final float of the big parade on Saturday. They will also be playing at the River Garden Civic Center in downtown Brattleboro from 5-8 PM on Friday evening, June 7th, and also on Sunday, June 9th at the Lilac farm from 11 AM on.

The Roots on the River Festival will be held in Bellow Falls from June 6th – 9th.  Featured performers include Fred Eaglesmith, Grant Peeples,  Mary Gauthier, Dave Alvin, Steel Wheels, Zoe Muth and the High Rollers, and many many more!

Bob and the Trubadors will perform an Outdoor Concert at Rough Terrain Farm in Randolph Center on Saturday, June 8th from 6-8 p.m.

Red Tail Ring will be performing at a house concert in Shelburne on Friday, June 7th at 7:00pm (reservations at  AlisonJamesVT@gmail or by calling 802-985-1124), at On the Rise Bakery in Richmond on Saturday June 8th at 7pm, and at the Huntington Library on Monday June 10th at 7:30pm.  

The Queen City Hot Club will be performing  on Tues June 4th - Church Street City Hall Stage 7:00-8:30,  on Thurs June 6th - Daily Planet 7:00-10:00 , and on Saturday June 8th - Leunig's 6:00-8:30 – all part of the Discover Jazz festival

Palmer Street Coffeehouse in Plattsburgh is pleased to welcome "The Sky Blue Boys" to close out its 25th season on Friday, June 7, 2013. Doors at 7:00  music at 7:30.

TRAVIS TRITT Friday, June 07th Metropolis, Montreal Doors 6:30 pm - Show: 8:00 pm

There will be a Performance of "Shylock Sings the Blues, " a blues multi media theatre event. June 9 2PM at Burlington City Arts. as part of the Jazz Fest. The performance includes a five piece band of local jazz luminaries and an original  three minute animated video.

The Starline Rhythm Boys will be playing on the Westford town green on Sunday June 9th from 7:00 - 8:00 as part of Westford's 250th birthday party.  

Woodchucks Revenge will perform at the Dorset Farmer’s Market on Sunday June 9th from 10:00am - 2:00pm
