As a part of our Vermont Reads series, Vermont's poet laureate Sydney Lea and recent Guggenheim fellow Cleopatra Mathis will join us to talk about poetry- why it's important and why we should be less afraid of it.
Also in the program, a Vermont court case that highlights a federal law on mental health care. The Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008 requires insurance program to give similar coverage to mental health care and medical/surgical care. A case in federal court in Burlington is testing the application of law. Robert Appel, former director of the Human Rights Commission, explains how.
