Two veteran Burlington police officers are on administrative leave today after being involved in fatal shooting of 49-year-old Wayne Brunette in Burlington’s New North End yesterday afternoon. A group of private and public colleges in Vermont has announced the formation of an education consortium to share food system courses and programs. A new round of federal grants will provide subsidies to three more health clinics in Vermont. Several hundred students and teachers are gathered today at a Montpelier hotel talking about how to combat bullying and promote respect for peoples' cultural differences.

He began his public radio career in 2007 at WHQR-FM in Wilmington, North Carolina where he served as Morning Edition host and reporter, covering county government and Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base. His work has won several Associated Press awards and has appeared on NPR's All Things Considered, Weekend Edition, and PRI's This American Life. A graduate of the creative writing program at the University of Maine at Farmington, Peter enjoys writing, cooking and traveling.
