Congressman Peter Welch says the nation's veterans need better access to their health records from their time in the military.  Vermont’s Disaster Case Management Program, which helps people recover from Tropical Storm Irene, was supposed to wrap up its work at the end of August – by the 2nd year anniversary of the flood.  A retired Brattleboro police officer says his instincts kicked in when he helped subdue a suspect during an attempted bank robbery.  Vermont State Police report says a woman who was killed in a crash involving a school bus and police cruiser in April had a blood alcohol content of more than twice the legal limit.

Peter was a Producer/Announcer at VPR until 2015. He began his public radio career in 2007 at WHQR-FM in Wilmington, North Carolina where he served as Morning Edition host and reporter, covering county government and Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base. His work has won several Associated Press awards and has appeared on NPR's All Things Considered, Weekend Edition, and PRI's This American Life. A graduate of the creative writing program at the University of Maine at Farmington, Peter enjoys writing, cooking and traveling.
