The deadline for the last 2016 round of the Vermont Community Foundation's Small & Inspiring grant program is Oct. 11. And there are 16 Vermont communities the foundation is particularly encouraging to apply.Small & Inspiring grants are given to municipalities or nonprofits for programs that help build communities. This round, grants will range from $500 to $2,500.
The grant program began in 2012 and, since that time, The Vermont Community Foundation says over $730,000 has been awarded to "projects serving 94 percent of Vermont's 251 towns." They'd like to see that figure go up to 100 percent. To that end, the foundation is encouraging projects in the remaining 16 municipalities to apply.
They are:
- Coventry
- East Haven
- Eden
- Ferdinand
- Glastenbury
- Hubbardton
- Kirby
- Lewis
- Lunenburg
- Mount Tabor
- Searsburg
- Somerset
- Sudbury
- Vershire
- Victory
- West Haven
While the deadline to apply for the final 2016 grant round is fast approaching, the Vermont Community Foundation says Small & Inspiring grants will also be available next year.
