New Interactive Map Locates Vermont Forest Products And Services

Vermont Working Lands Enterprise Initiative
Looking for a logger? There are many from all parts of the state listed on the Vermont Working Lands Enterprise Initiative's new online map.

Looking for a firewood dealer near you? Or maybe you're in the market to kiln-dry some boards. Or do you just want to know the name of your local forester? The answers to all of these queries can now be found in one place, a new interactive online map of Vermont forest and wood products. The map is an online forest and wood products directory compiled by the state's Working Lands Enterprise Initiative. Consumers can use the map to locate all manner of forest and wood related enterprises, including:

  • Educational programs
  • Concentration yards
  • Consulting foresters
  • Firewood dealers
  • Kilns
  • Loggers
  • Pulp mills
  • Saw mills
  • Wood products producers
  • Schools utilizing woodchips

The directory was unveiled in February, along with a Forest Sector Systems Analysis report, at a Southern Vermont Forest Meetup. The report emphasized a need to initiate industry-wide networking and increase consumer demand for Vermont-made wood products.
