The energy company TransCanada got an earful from protesters in Quebec this week when environmental hearings got underway on the company's plans to build a huge oil pipeline known as "EnergyEast."
The Montreal Gazette has been covering the story, and for our Friday Regional Report the Gazette's Quebec City Bureau Chief Caroline Plante spoke with VPR's Mitch Wertlieb about the controversial proposed project, which would carry up to one million gallons of crude oil per day from Alberta and Saskatchewan to refineries in eastern Canada, including one in Montreal and another near Quebec City.
