Stuart Comstock-Gay is stepping down as president and CEO of the Vermont Community Foundation. Comstock-Gay has led the organization since 2008. He is leaving to head the Delaware Community Foundation.
In a statement, Comstock-Gay said the new position, "presents me with an opportunity to work in a setting that includes diverse urban and rural communities, and the challenges that are inherent in those places."
The Vermont Community Foundation is one of 700 community foundations in the U.S. which which help direct the charitable work of organizations and individuals dedicated to improving quality of life in communities. The organization played a central role in Tropical Storm Irene recovery.
According to the most recent annual report, the organization has more than $214 million in assets and awarded more than $15 million in grants in 2014.
Comstock-Gay will leave the foundation in late January. No replacement has been named.
