Vermont-based singer/songwriter Anders Parker has released a new album titled “There’s a Blue Bird in My Heart.” Most of the album was recorded here in Vermont, though the songs were mixed in Athens, Georgia with David Barbe, who has also done albums for Drive By Truckers, The Glands, Amy Ray, k.d. lang and R.E.M.
The name of the CD comes from a line in a Charles Bukowski poem called “Bluebird.” “This is a peom I’ve always loved," Anders said, "Sometimes, the title of an album is there before you record it, but this one I agonized over until I was up one night and stumbled on a YouTube reading of the poem by Harry Dean Stanton.”
