A group of New England banking, housing and investment leaders will visit Vermont to talk about a project to develop the Northeast Kingdom with help from foreign investors through the EB-5 investment program.
The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston's New England Community Development Advisory Council will hold its regional meeting at the Gateway Center in Newport City on Sept. 9 in partnership with the Newport City Renaissance Corp.
The Caledonian Record reports the meeting is called “Strengthening New England's Rural Economies.”
Officials will discuss whether the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program could be used by other rural communities in New England.
The EB-5 program grants investors a path to U.S. residence in exchange for investments.
