The historic Proctor mansion, built by Redfield Proctor Jr. before he served as governor of Vermont, is going up for auction.
The home is located in the Rutland County town of Proctor. It was last auctioned by the Proctor family in 1995. Its current owners, Peg and David Boots, say it will go up for auction again one week from tomorrow.
Redfield Proctor Senor founded the Vermont Marble Company. He along with two of his sons and one grandson all served as governors of Vermont.
The stately brick mansion has eight bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. The current owners paid half a million dollars for it.
